The Damage Done

The storm that blew past my home blew into Andrews Park, developing into a tornado and destroying a number of beloved old trees.

Mobile Home

Every once in a while, it turns out to be a good thing when I hear “Mom! Come here quick!”

Grandma Was Here

My husband found a patch of cactus in the woods behind our home last evening. He told our children, “Grandma was here,” meaning she had planted the cactus when she lived on our property years ago. She now lives in town, and my husband has been working to restore our land to the pristine condition it was in when he was a boy. My young son loves cactus, and has been asking me to plant cactus seeds,so the discovery of this patch was a pleasant surprise in more ways than one.

It’s Time

I wondered where this wall clock ended up when my husband said he didn’t like it.

He’s Real

I thought this was a statue, until the ears wiggled a bit to shoo away a fly

this is a statue

World Environment Day

The care of the Earth is our most ancient and most worthy, and after all our most pleasing responsibility. To cherish what remains of it and to foster its renewal is our only hope. -Wendell Berry

Happy World Environment Day!
