Mr T and Me

Mr T and I go ‘way back’ – usually I encounter him crossing my driveway, but on one recent morning I sighted him crossing the road by my house just as I returned from town.

My first encounter with Mr. T can be found here.

Oklahoma Moore Tornado

There aren’t really words to express my feelings – my thoughts and prayers are with everyone impacted by this disaster.

Bluefish Way

My mind has not been on blogging today as I have 2 friends that live in the Oklahoma Moore area. As you must know by now a massive tornado scythed through Moore leaving utter devastation. I emailed LyannV (who regularly comments in my blog and her face can be seen four times on the 55 Blogs I Follow on my sidebar) who lives just east of Moore/Norman and I had no reply for quite a while. She managed to get to an internet cafe and emailed me with the news that her family are okay, extremely shaken up. Her house is okay but without water or electricity. A relation of hers live in the path of the tornado. The house was totally destroyed, their dog was killed but they survived by crouching in their bathroom Another friend lives near Lake Draper, east of Oklahoma City and saw the tornado barrelling…

Under the Weather

My doctor has moved to Dallas, and because he is one of only 3 specialists in the U.S. who treats the particular hip disorder I have, there is no choice but to drive from Oklahoma to Texas every few weeks to continue treatment. The drive last week was under cloudy skies and through heavy rain, giving me something to do besides think about how painful it was to sit all those hours on the road.

I believe in Santa Claus – he did, after all, leave this letter for the children last year:

shifts in time 026

…and he did make good on his promise 🙂

This year, however, times are tougher all over for everyone, and I’ve been ‘suggesting’ to the children that Santa may not only be late again this year, but he may not be able to come at all. Yeah, that’s been going over real well 😦

Rane refuses to believe that Santa might not visit our home this year, and it nearly broke my heart when she scribbled a letter to him for me to type-up and print and mail to him:

shifts in time 021

The other children have not (yet) written letters to Santa, but they have all told me what they would most like to have…clicking on the links will paint a more complete picture of each child:
