I live way out in the country and the store closest to my home is the Corner Market. My husband and I decided to brave the icy roads last night to get popsicles for our son, Zack, who had been sick all day. Unfortunately, the Corner Market had closed early and even though we didn’t get popsicles, we did get a good laugh when we saw an unlikely duo feasting on food left out for the kitties who live at the Corner Market. I had only my cellphone with me so the photo quality isn’t so great, but I thought it was worth sharing B-)

For the WordPress Weekly Photo Challenge : Masterpiece
The images I share on this blog are generally unedited snapshots of my life. This image was born of a set of photos I took of fledgling birds at Blazers Ice Centre in Oklahoma City.
The original image was blurry & a horrible, dull and dim greenish-brownish color, but I thought it might be interesting to play around and see what I could turn it into.
Although it’s not a masterpiece by any ordinary standard, I am quite pleased with it… it is my own masterpiece 🙂

What you need to know about the past is that no matter what has happened, it has all worked together to bring you to this very moment. And this is the moment you can choose to make everything new. Right now. ~Author Unknown
I hadn’t realized how long it’s been since I’ve taken a walk outside the boundaries of my own property…then, outside last night I heard her braying.
Last summer, I took regular evening walks, usually to clear my mind from my studies. This year, I found I have become housebound, and now I have resolved to begin walking up the road again – if not for exercise, then at least to see this dear creature. Optimists are nostalgic about the future. ~Chicago Tribune

WordPress Weekly Photo Challenge: Fleeting
Man is the only critter who feels the need to label things as flowers or weeds. ~Author Unknown
What is a weed? A plant whose virtues have not yet been discovered. ~Ralph Waldo Emerson, Fortune of the Republic, 1878
I love to think of nature as an unlimited broadcasting station, through which God speaks to us every hour, if we will only tune in. ~George Washington Carver
Everything comes to pass, nothing comes to stay. ~Matthew Flickstein
Nothing that is can pause or stay;
The moon will wax, the moon will wane,
The mist and cloud will turn to rain,
The rain to mist and cloud again,
Tomorrow be today.
~Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

I wasn’t surprised to see this sign blocking my way to town after heavy rain
I suppose I wasn’t surprised, either, that drivers chose to ignore the sign – we all know better than government safety officials, right?
I’m certain I wouldn’t have noticed the candy store in the mall if it weren’t for this sign. I think the faces express common sentiments about candy 🙂
Of course in light of the recent weather where I live, this is an important sign to look for – really, it should always be important 🙂
