Going to Town

I live “far out” in the countryside east of Norman, Oklahoma…southeast of Oklahoma City. These photos were taken on a recent morning drive to town.

Grandma Was Here

 My husband found a patch of cactus in the woods behind our home last evening. He told our children, “Grandma was here,” meaning she had planted the cactus when she lived on our property years ago. She now lives in town, and my husband has been working to restore our land to the pristine condition it was in when he was a boy. My young son loves cactus, and has been asking me to plant cactus seeds,so the discovery of this patch was a pleasant surprise in more ways than one.
