Cold as Ice

It’s not officially winter yet, but winter obviously pays no mind to the calendar. It’s supposed to warm up enough today to melt the ice – but the weather report says to expect 2-3 inches of snow tomorrow.  Awesome!

Kitty Corner

At the country store near where I live, there is a lovely colony of kitties.

Although these kitties are feral, and they will never be lap kitties, they really are beautiful, and they afforded me the time recently to photograph them.

Night

Night, the beloved. Night, when words fade and things come alive. When the destructive analysis of day is done, and all that is truly important becomes whole and sound again. When man reassembles his fragmentary self and grows with the calm of a tree. ~Antoine de Saint-Exupéry

Home, Home on the Range

Just another afternoon waiting on the school bus

In the beginning, all is quiet

At first, I was just watching the pretty white bird in the pasture across the road

bulls butting heads

Dad putting Junior in his place

Mom runs to the rescue

Mom to the rescue with sibling in tow

My mother protected me from the world and my father threatened me with it.
