From the Heart

When we look up, it widens our horizons. We see what a little speck we are in the
universe, so insignificant, and we all take ourselves so seriously, but in the
sky, there are no boundaries. No differences of caste or religion or race.

Do Drop By

Although I had an appointment to keep in town, I couldn’t help but stop at the top of my driveway to photograph – in the pouring rain -the drops of water hanging from the branches of the trees there

Lost in the Details

For the WordPress Weekly Photo Challenge

Waiting again one day for Trin to finish band practice after school, I noticed how beautifully the clouds were reflected in the car parked next to mine. And on another day, I noticed how beautiful the trees were as reflected from the icy roof of my husband’s car

Fallen

My children love to go for walks through what they call The Land, which is the five acres of woods behind our home. Back in the fall, before my surgery, Trin and Rane made certain I went to see a certain very large fallen tree

Sunset

It’s been a lot of work, but the woods behind my home are almost no longer a jungle – the sunset is actually visible now through the trees.

The Damage Done

The storm that blew past my home blew into Andrews Park, developing into a tornado and destroying a number of beloved old trees.

Marked for life

These ‘marks’ were formed by vines wrapped around the tree trunk. My husband has recently taken to clearing the jungle that’s been our yard for so long. While I did enjoy the privacy the dense vegetation afforded our property, I’m happy for the trees being freed from the strangling vines.

Yeah, this was my yard “before”
